All Star Sports @ Tree Tops!

All Star Sports have been continuing our work with nurseries with Tree Tops Nursery in Alkrington this week. We have been helping the Nursery achieve their EYFS Curriculum targets through our sports coaching program and delivering some fun multi-sports sessions to some of the older children on the Nurseries Summer School.

Our sessions with the Nursery have focused on helping the children develop an understanding of problem solving and numeracy. We have also worked hard to help improve the children’s coordination, control and manipulation of movement as well as supporting their curiosity, exploration and play.

Head Coach Mathew Gartland said “The staff at the Nursery have been fantastic and have really helped our coaches deliver really enjoyable sessions to the children at Tree Tops Nursery. From the sessions I have delivered and from the feedback from the Nursery the children have all really enjoyed their sessions and have all learnt a lot of valuable personal skills.”

“This weeks session was themed around cars with all the children working with each to improve their communication and their team working skills whilst competing against the other cars in the competitions and races. All the children absolutely loved racing against each other.”

A number of children from the Nursery have signed up to the All Star Sports Little Stars program which runs at Middleton Arena every Sunday morning. All Star Sports have enjoyed working with Tree Tops Nursery, Alkrington and we look forward to working with them again in the not too distant future.
