All Stars @ Teddies Nursery, Oldham

Children at Teddies Nursery, Oldham have all been put their paces in recent weeks with sports coaching from All Star Sports.  All Star Sports have been helping the Nursery achieve their EYFS Curriculum targets through their sports coaching program and delivering some fun multi-sports sessions to the pre-school children at the nursery.

The sports sessions have focused on helping the children develop an understanding of problem solving and numeracy. They have also helped to improve the children’s coordination, control and manipulation of movement as well as supporting their curiosity, exploration and play.

All Star Sports Manager, Mathew Gartland, said “The staff at the Nursery have been fantastic and have really helped us to deliver enjoyable sessions to the children at Teddies Nursery. From the sessions I have delivered and from the feedback from the nursery the children have all really enjoyed their sessions and have all learnt a lot of valuable personal skills. This weeks session was themed around colours with all the children working with each to improve their communication and their team working skills whilst competing against each other in the competitions and races. Last week our session was based around animals with all the children learning about animals and having to pretend to be horses and birds and giraffes and learning abut what noises they make and what colours they are.”
Lisa, one of the Nurses at Teddies Nursery added “The coach from All Stars is always very friendly and polite. The children look forward to him coming in every week and they all really enjoy the sessions. All of the session content is age appropriate and we are even starting to re-create the sessions in between the coaches visits.”
