Little Stars and Blue Moons!

A PROMISING young sportsman, who shares his name with Wayne Rooney’s son, has been snapped up by United’s arch-rivals Manchester City.

Little Stars’ Kai Cohen has earned a highly coveted place on Manchester City Football Clubs Development Squad.

Kai, four, started training with Little Stars in June and this week he attended his first training session at Manchester City with their Under 6 development group.

Kai was a regular to the Sunday morning sessions at Middleton Arena and his hard work has been rewarded with Manchester City snapping him up. Kai will now train with the Manchester City boys at their Platt Lane HQ.

Little Stars’ Head Coach Mathew Gartland, “Kai has worked really hard at Little Stars. He was always very attentive and always listened to what the coaches had to say.”

“At Little Stars we are all about participation, not performance, but with our partnership with MCFC we have been able to bring Kai’s considerable ability to the attention of the MCFC staff.”

The invitation to Kai is hoped to be the first of many as part of a new working relationship established between Manchester City FC and All Star Sports who run the weekly Little Stars program at Middleton Sports Arena.

Mathew Gartland added “We’ve been very fortunate to have developed a good working relationship with Manchester City and we have some very exciting plans in the pipeline that will benefit all of our Little Stars.”

Kai’s Mother, Tracey Cohen, said “I would like to thank All Star Sports. They introduced Kai to football and helped him to develop his dribbling and taught him to control the ball. I am really grateful for all they have done for him.”

All the staff at All Star Sports are all made up for Kai. He has got a fantastic support network around him at home and we are sure he will be incredibly successful at whatever he chooses to do. Well done Kai!!
